In his last project, the Duct Tape CEO & former Def Jam recording artist enlisted a who’s who of hot southern talent. Including names that dominate today’s rap market like Future, Kevin Gates, Mike Will Made It, Zaytoven and more, the original Godfather project was before it’s time.
Add in the fact that Big Bank Bllack has an actual ARMY to feed, his last project wasn’t given the attention it deserved – from him or the critics. When asked how it felt to have such a stellar project be overlooked, Black responded “I love making the music. It’s in me, but at the end of the day I’ve got real life issues to handle before sweating these critics for approval. My music is that real, authentic, uncut street shit. Everywhere the streets hear Big Bank Black, it’s all love and respect. I ain’t makin this music to be popular. I’m already that. I’m sharing these real life street lessons with the next generation, showing em how real solid men handle & conduct themselves.”
Fast forward to October 2015, and time has seen Big Bank Black expand his empire and reach to include ownership of a state of the art studio, the official launch of his clothing line, and most importantly, true groundbreaking success for Duct Tape’s flagship artist Trouble, and new projects from Veli Sosa, B. Green, Alley Boy, DTB, Cocaine Judo, Pesci & Duct Tape Dave. While hearing his soldiers work on their projects, Black couldn’t resist jumping on a couple of songs that B. Green was working on. This led to the street-focused #2Hardmixtape and laid the groundwork for the upcoming “Godfather 2”.
Playing his hand close to his vest, Big Bank Black hasn’t announced any features on the project or revealed what producers he’s worked with. Nevertheless, this is The Godfather we’re talking about here. He can include whomever he chooses to work with – he’s know for making offers that no man can refuse!
