Born in El Salvador and raised in the global melting pot of Northern Virginia since the age of two, Granada has been involved in the DMV scene for over a decade. Growing up attending shows at the 9:30 Cub and the Howard Theatre, he formed his first rap group in high school where he hustled CD’s and competed in rap battles for lunch money.
In the fall of 2010, Granada enrolled at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA where he joined The Student Hip-Hop Organization’s (SHHO) founding chapter. Starting out as a promoter, Granada eventually grew to the ranks of the president, where he was involved in throwing concerts and events for such notable acts like Two9 (including Key!, Curtis Williams, and Ree$e), Main Attrakionz, Blu, and Raekwon, as well as worked with local businesses and the university to further integrate hip-hop into the community.
Currently residing in Arlington, VA, Granada is taking the foundation he’s built himself to return back to his roots. After refining his skills over the years and establishing a network of artists in the area, he’s co-founded the Them Collective. Granada will be dropping his debut album Mood Music Vol. 1 on Sunday April 23rd, which features production from Pearl White and features from DanVHefner, as well as, other DMV artists. The album will be a portrayal of the extreme emotions one feels when overcoming life’s obstacles such as, bad break ups and keeping negative people out of your life.
