LIL POOPY FATHER WAS ARRESTED ON RICO

The father of child rapper Lil Poopy was arrested on Thursday [June 8] as part of a federal operation that netted dozens of alleged drug and gun runners on RICO conspiracy charges in Boston. Luis “Fat Louie” Rivera, 33, of Brockton, MA was one of more than 60 people taken down for federal and state firearm and drug charges, with Rivera receiving a charge for conspiracy to distribute crack and cocaine.

The sting was the development of an investigation on activity carried out by a network of members from the 18th Street Gang, the East Side Money Gang, and the Boylston Gang. A grand jury indicted Rivera after reviewing evidence of him in possession of 280 grams of cocaine based substance. Rivera plead not guilty. If convicted he faces 10 years to life in prison. He is being held until his detention hearing on June 14.

Rivera was the focus of a 2013 state child abuse investigation when videos of his 9-year-old son caught the attention of authorities. Lil Poopy [Rivera’s son], gained internet fame appearing in explicit music videos shot in nightclubs.

The popularity of the videos would land him a role in Jermaine Dupri’s Lifetime television reality series, The Rap Game.
