Kevin Gates Sentenced 180 Days in Jail
A jury of six women took less than two hours to find a rapper guilty on Wednesday of kicking a woman during a performance at a Lakeland, Fl club in 2015. County Judge Sharon Franklin sentenced Kevin Gates to 180 days in jail, three times more than what prosecutors requested for the misdemeanor battery conviction. Ty Dolla $ign is the latest artist to get caught slipping by the IRS. The Cali crooner has been hit with a $180,969.35 tax lien, reports TMZ. According to documents obtained by the site, Ty owes back taxes for three years; $16,617.05 in 2011, $54,626.91 in 2013 and $109,725.39 in 2014. Brooklynite, Bobby Shmurda, was sentenced to 7 years in prison Wednesday [October 19]. The “Hot N****” rapper went from an internet sensation to a felon after pleading guilty to conspiracy and criminal possession of a weapon charge in September. According to the FADER, his attorney, Alex Spiro said “his sentence of 7 years, with credit for 2 years already served and good time credit will hopefully permit him to be home in approximately 3 1⁄2 years and resume his remarkable career.
