Ice Cube Gets a Star on Walk of Fame
Rapper, actor, and movie producer Ice Cube received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday (June 12) in front of the Musicians Institute on Hollywood Boulevard. Cube was joined by N.W.A. members Dr. Dre, DJ Yella, and MC Ren, who posted a photo on his Twitter with the caption, “Congratulations to @icecube getting his star in Hollywood. Rihanna Named Harvard’s Humanitarian Of The Year
Rihanna has been named the 2017 Harvard University Humanitarian of the Year. The Grammy Award-winning singer will receive the Harvard Foundation‘s Peter J. Gomes Humanitarian Award at a ceremony scheduled for Feb. 28. Rihanna is being honored for several philanthropic efforts. Actor and comedian Ricky Harris, who played the character “Gangsta” in John Singleton‘s “Poetic Justice” passed away at the age of 54. Gabrielle Union Sues BET
Lights, camera, faction. Actress Gabrielle Union fired off a lawsuit against BET, claiming the network tried to short-change her by stuffing more episodes into a single season of her show “Being Mary Jane” than she agreed upon, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The 42-year-old star contends producers for the hit series vowed that seasons would never run more than 13 episodes, but they’re now trying to jam 20 shows into Season 4.
