Rihanna Named Harvard’s Humanitarian Of The Year
Rihanna has been named the 2017 Harvard University Humanitarian of the Year. The Grammy Award-winning singer will receive the Harvard Foundation‘s Peter J. Gomes Humanitarian Award at a ceremony scheduled for Feb. 28. Rihanna is being honored for several philanthropic efforts. She built a state-of-the-art center for oncology and nuclear medicine to diagnose and treat breast cancer in her home nation of Barbados. She created the Clara and Lionel Foundation Scholarship Program — named for her grandparents — for students attending college in the U.S. from Caribbean countries. Police are searching for the mother of a former Atlanta reality TV star they suspect was kidnapped from her house in DeKalb County. Officers told Channel 2 Action News they found the home of Kimberly Moore ransacked with both the back and front doors open Wednesday on Maplewood Drive. Moore, 54, is the mother of former “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” star Chavante “Che” Mack, Channel 2 reported. Mack appeared on one season of the popular VH1 reality show as a new artist working with Grammy-winning music producer Stevie J. Soulja Boy Charged With Gun Possession
Soulja Boy is now facing a felony for the guns police found in his house during his December arrest. The L.A. County D.A. just slapped him with 2 felonies — possession of an assault weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was also charged with a misdemeanor for receiving stolen property … cops say one of the guns in Soulja’s house was reportedly stolen from a cop car. Actor & Comedian Ricky Harris Dead at 54
Actor and comedian Ricky Harris, who played the character “Gangsta” in John Singleton‘s “Poetic Justice” passed away at the age of 54. While the aforementioned film brought Ricky to the big screen, he also had roles in “Bones,” “Everybody Hates Chris,” “Heat,” “Q,” and “Hard Rain.” Snoop Dogg fans will also remember Harris as the iconic voice-character “DJ Eaz-E-Dicc” on the California rapper’s albums. Beyonce Sued for Using Roc-A-Fella Logo
Beyoncé was hit with another lawsuit, this time for her use of the Roc-A-Fella logo. Dwayne Walker, the creator of the logo, says Bey never asked for his permission to use it in the 2013 music video for her hit song “Drunk in Love.” Walker claims the logo is prominently displayed in the video and he wants her to take it down or pay him for its use, according to TMZ. The logo, however, only appears briefly in the video, and it’s via Jay Z. Camila Cabello has left Fifth Harmony, the group announced in a note on Twitter late Sunday night.
