Sony Reportedly Working on Ol’ Dirty Bastard Biopic
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony is currently working on an Ol’ Dirty Bastard biopic with RZA leading the production of the project. An ODB film has been rumored for quite some time with the prospects of the movie coming to fruition after the blockbuster N.W.A. biopic, Straight Outta Compton. RZA told Rolling Stone back in 2016, “Straight Outta Compton showed that with the proper team and marketing, many of us out here who grew up on this music would love to see the inside makings of those stories.” Sources close to the situation say that the studio is currently searching for a director. Ty Dolla $ign Arrested
Ty Dolla $ign has been arrested by Atlanta police following a traffic stop. Cops pulled over Ty’s limo and asked him and his crew to hop out. Upon searching the vehicle, police found a large amount of weed. In the video of the arrest, released by TMZ, shows Ty and his crew waiting around as the van is searched and eventually shows Ty Dolla being taken off in handcuffs. Ty Dolla $ign has been charged with possession of marijuana, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia. Trailer for Netflix Documentary ‘Quincy’
Netflix is set to release the Rashida Jones directed Qunicy Jones documentary aptly titled, Quincy, on September 21. The official trailer of the documentary has been released featuring some of the biggest names in entertainment like WIll Smith, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, and Paul McCartney speaking to Quincy’s genius. Political dignitaries like Barack Obama and Nelson Mandela are also shown in the film sharing moments with Quincy. However, the trailer didn’t include Jones’ groundbreaking work with Michael Jackson. Several days ago it hit the blogs that Bow Wow caused THOUSANDS in damages while on set of Growing Up Hip Hop:Atlanta. The 31-year-old was attending a party to celebrate Da Brat getting off probation when something immediately set him off. Afterward, he wrecked three cameras and was accused of attacking anyone who tried to stop him. Burt Reynolds Passed Away at 82
Famed actor Burt Reynolds died on Thursday (September 6) morning after reportedly having a heart attack in a Florida hospital. The 82-year-old was surrounded by family after being rushed to the hospital after going into cardiac arrest. Reynolds was best known for his roles in Smokey and the Bandit, Boogie Nights and Cannonball Run. He also won a Golden Globe for his role as porn director Jack Horner in Boogie Nights in 1997 and was also nominated for an Oscar for the same role that year. Reynolds is survived by his son. SOURCE
