Kevin Gates Sentenced 180 Days in Jail
A jury of six women took less than two hours to find a rapper guilty on Wednesday of kicking a woman during a performance at a Lakeland, Fl club in 2015. County Judge Sharon Franklin sentenced Kevin Gates to 180 days in jail, three times more than what prosecutors requested for the misdemeanor battery conviction. The sentence came after Gates’ lawyer, Jose Baez of Orlando, requested that Franklin refrain from sentencing Gates to any jail time and instead “fashion a sentence.” “Mr. Gates has been involved in the Make a Wish Foundation,” Baez said. “That would assist the community much more than a 60-day jail sentence.” Franklin asked whether Gates,…

Shaquille O’Neal just took ownership of an Atlanta-area Krispy Kreme store. The basketball Hall-of-Famer and sports and entertainment superstar announced Monday that he has become the owner of the Ponce de Leon location, which has been there for more than 60 years. Ty Dolla Sign Hit With $180,000 Tax Lien
Ty Dolla $ign is the latest artist to get caught slipping by the IRS. The Cali crooner has been hit with a $180,969.35 tax lien, reports TMZ. According to documents obtained by the site, Ty owes back taxes for three years; $16,617.05 in 2011, $54,626.91 in 2013 and $109,725.39 in 2014.
