Los Angeles to Host 2028 Summer Olympics
It was announced on Monday, July 31, that Los Angeles will be hosting the 2028 Olympic Summer Games. The West Coast city had been in a bidding war with Paris over who would host the 2028 games, and it was decided that France will host in 2024. Fresh Kid Ice of 2 Live Crew Dead at 53
Fresh Kid Ice, a founding member of influential hip hop group 2 Live Crew, has died in Miami, according to TMZ. Fresh Kid Ice, along with DJ Mr. Mixx, Amazing Vee, and Brother Marquis, represented an early incarnation of 2 Live Crew. The trio later linked with Luther Campbell when he signed them to his record label. According to 2 Live Crew’s manager, Fresh Kid, born Chris Wong Won, died at 7:50 AM Thursday in a Miami hospital due to an unspecified medical condition. He was 53. SOURCE: VLADTV

Tupac Inducted Into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Tupac Shakur will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017, along with Pearl Jam, Joan Baez, Electric Light Orchestra, Journey, and Yes. The induction ceremony will be held on April 7th, 2017, at Brooklyn‘s Barclays Center. Tupac Shakur will be the sixth hip-hop act to join the ranks of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Kevin Gates Sentenced 180 Days in Jail
A jury of six women took less than two hours to find a rapper guilty on Wednesday of kicking a woman during a performance at a Lakeland, Fl club in 2015. County Judge Sharon Franklin sentenced Kevin Gates to 180 days in jail, three times more than what prosecutors requested for the misdemeanor battery conviction. Shawty Lo Dies in Car Accident
An Atlanta rapper was killed Wednesday in a fiery crash on I-285 in south Fulton County, according to his official Twitter account. While the Fulton Medical Examiner’s office has not identified the victim in the crash, the rapper’s brother and a manager confirmed Carlos “Shawty Lo” Walker, known for the hit “Dey Know,” died in the accident on the I-285 southbound ramp to Cascade Road.
