Wendell Pierce, who became famous for playing Baltimore detective Bunk Moreland on HBO’s beloved show The Wire, was arrested late Saturday after he allegedly beat up two people for being Bernie Sanders supporters, according to TMZ. The Marin County Sheriff’s office reported on Tuesday morning (May 3) that Afeni Shakur Davis, the mother of late rapper Tupac Shakur, died on Monday night at age 69. April 20th is no date to take your blessing as an NFL football player for granted, Le’Veon Bell learned on Wednesday, as the Pro Bowl running back is reported to have been summonsed to take a random drug test. Lil Wayne Receives Key to the City
Lil Wayne was gifted a key to the city of Lafayette in his home state of Louisiana, and Mayor-President Joel Robideaux made sure the key was made into a one-of-a-kind gold chain. Rapper Gunned Down on Southside Chicago
Five people were shot while filming a music video on the South Side of Chicago overnight, with one of the victims falling casualty to the violence. Aspiring rapper Damond Dawson, 23, was pronounced dead on arrival after the shooting broke out at Foster Park just before 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Two of the victims, men ages 18 and 25, were grazed, while a 20-year-old man was shot nine times in the leg. The fifth victim is a 19-year-old woman who was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center with two shots to the groin. She is in critical condition. Kodak Black Arrested (VIDEO)
Though the charges are still unknown, it appears that South Florida rapper Kodak Black has been arrested. The news comes courtesy of DJ Akademiks, who obtained a video of Kodak being led into the backseat of a police SUV. The persons who filmed the video can be heard yelling out, “Project Baby!” referring to Kodak’s nickname as well as the title of his first mixtape. Prince Dies at 57 at Paisley Park
The hugely popular and acclaimed musician Prince has died at his home in Minnesota at the age of 57, his publicist has said. Police were called to a medical emergency at his Paisley Park estate earlier on Thursday, US media reported. An investigation is underway.
