Michael Jordan Donates $7M to Charlotte Clinics
In the past, many have criticized Michael Jordan for staying silent during trying times that affect people who mostly purchase his products. However, Michael Jordan is putting his money where the critic’s mouths are, as he reportedly donated seven million dollars to clinics in at-risk communities located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Jordan and his brand are set to work with Novant Health, who announced Jordan’s donation earlier Monday. NBA All-Star Teams No Longer East vs. West
In the past, NBA All-Star teams would be chosen based on the conference: Eastern or Western. Now, ESPN has reported that the format for choosing All-Star teams is set to change. Two captains will be able to pick their teams no matter what conference the player is from, and the players who get the most fan votes from each conference will serve as the captains of each team. NBA Fines LA Lakers $500,000 for Tampering
The LA Lakers have been fined by the NBA for violating the league’s anti-tampering rules when they were pursuing Paul George. The fine amounted to $500,000. Before George was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Lakers GM Rob Pelinka reportedly had inappropriate contact with George’s agent.
