The annual contest will be hosted by ESPN broadcaster Sage Steele and former “The Bachelor” star Chris Harrison. The judging position is merely the latest undertaking by Ciara outside of the music-making industry in recent years. The artist, who rose to fame in the early 2000s, appeared in the Adam Sandler comedy “That’s My Boy” in 2012, and she also starred in the musical drama “Mama I Want to Sing” that year. Likewise, she hosted the Billboard Music Awards alongside fellow hip-hop artist Ludacris in May, and she’s worked with fashion brands such as Roberto Cavalli as well. Her most recent album, “Jackie,” dropped in 2015.

It’s been a momentous year for the “Goodies” artist, as she married NFL star quarterback Russell Wilson in July. The duo, who wed in London, originally planned to tie the knot in North Carolina but decided to move the wedding in response to the state’s controversial LGBT bathroom laws, their wedding planner told The Knot this week.
