More of an alliance than a group, these two artists are strangers neither to a microphone nor to microphone stands. Cory Compensation, (born Cory Benford) is a native of Philadelphia, PA and has been rapping since 1998. His early influences were DMX & Eminem. Compensation is a self-driven, multi-faceted artist who has a slick delivery and versatile flows for any occasion. Not to Mention, an R&B presence incomparable to anything the industry has come across and displayed thus far.
2018 has been a very productive year for Compensation. He released 3 projects (The Script, 5:15:11, Ready 2 Live) which are all currently available on every major music streaming platform. Whether you are talking about Bars, Wordplay, Cadence, vocal skill or star quality – Compensation cannot and will not be ignored.
Massive (born Richard B. Minor IV) was raised in the Soundview Section of the Bronx. He has been rapping since the mid to late 80’s, recording his first record when he was just 9 years old. His early influences were Slick Rick and B.D.P. In 1999, Massive sought need for a change and chose to go by the name Filthy Rich to compliment his Gritty NY flow. Massive has released several collaborative projects with talented artists up and down the east coast for many years. This latest project (5:15:1) is his most recent collaborative masterpiece. Together, these two lyrical giants are creative, complimenting and professional. A duo in hip hop that seeks to make good music for their listeners. Who would’ve thought?
The Ep titled 5:15:1 – by Massive Compensation is a five-song project selected from various songs they recorded. The name 5:15:1 was derived from the requirements to qualify for an American Music Award. At least 5-songs, 15 minutes in length = 1 project. The EP delivers a range of topics from “The Fat Lady Sings” where they display their bravado in a little bar for bar tennis, to the inspirational “Awoke Refreshed” where they rap about being resilient through hard times.
