Nas Reportedly Hit with Tax Lien

2016 is the year of entertainers and athletes being haunted by unpaid bills, as rapper Nas was recently hit with a $571,550 tax lien by the state of Georgia. According to court documents, the lien comes from taxes that the rapper never paid on past income he received years ago. One lien he owes on from 2008 is for $145,708, and the other lien is from 2007 which is for $425,842. Within the first amount owed, $49,000 of the money owed is interest, and just over $24,000 is a “collection fee” from the state.

Nas is no stranger to the woes of tax liens, as he was hit with a lien in 2011 for almost $340,000 on his 2010 income.
