Snoop Dogg Brings Back DoggyStyle Records
Snoop Dogg is rebooting his record label.
DoggyStyle Records has officially re-opened its doors and already has a marquee artist on its roster. The company, which started in 1995, came to fruition after Snoop’s success on his 1993 album, DoggyStyle. It has been 20 years since the label produced music but this year Snoop is planning to change that.
Atlanta rapper Clay James is DoggyStyle Record’s newest signee and is breaking out with full force. In an interview with Sway’s Universe, James opened up about how he sparked the interest of the label’s A&R, which landed him the coveted spot. “They liked my performance and formed an organic relationship with me.” From there he says his music was passed on to DoggyStyle Records executives and the rest was history.
Most recently Snoop Dogg released a movie with G Pen titled G7: The Loyalty Runs Out. The west coast rapper is dabbling back into music this year with a nationwide tour, starting late July.
