SoloCelo – The Good Intro @itsSoloCelo
SoloCelo is a 19 year old music artist from Chicago, who has gained over half a million streams online by releasing music that takes inspiration from many different musical genres. Growing up on the south side Chicago, and having a mixed background of both Black and Colombian, SoloCelo has been surrounded by many cultures and tastes that have helped mold him into the artist he is today. Although he does mainly focus on rap music, SoloCelo makes it a mission to prove his versatility and dynamic style. From new wave rap, to R&B, to pop, to even rock, SoloCelo brings a new energy to the rap game that has not yet been seen from Chicago.
When listening to his music, it is clear he wishes to detach himself from the more popular sounds that Chicago is known for, like Chief Keef’s drill music, and Chance’s more soulful approach to rap. SoloCelo’s refreshing style and cadence, in part with his many collaborations with the talented Ra Beats, makes his music interesting and fun to listen to.
SoloCelo’s debut self-titled mixtape features 14 songs and collaborations from many different artists — including Atlanta’s Pryce, and Chicago’s very own WemmyMo, Goldenboymnny, Vell Le Villain and Jae Rio. The tape also features productions from Ra Beats & PoloBoyShawty, as well as Bighead & Ronny J. If you did not know of SoloCelo already, it is very hard to know that he is from Chicago strictly from the sound of his debut mixtape. There is a wide range of genres including, new wave and old school rap, pop, and even rock — making for a truly unique listening experience.
