“ATLANTA” DONALD GLOVER’S BEST EFFORT YET
Donald Glover is not your average human being. He is a multi-talented wunderkind and possibly the most creative person to come about in the last decade. His career path is one that I have personally been following since he was a writer and occasional guest star on “30 Rock.” As a big fan of his work, I always felt that the way that he was portrayed on television was what other people thought of him: a nerdy black guy beloved by both black and white people. Glover as a musician is far from that. His music work as Childish Gambino is much darker, and feels like a more authentic version…

Beyoncé honored rapper Shawty Lo at her Formation concert Monday in Atlanta. Before she began her song, “Diva,” Bey, 35, and her dancers performed a choreographed number to Shawty’s hit single, “Dey Know” as the crowded cheered her on. Users on social media filmed the special moment and many called the tribute “classy.” Shawty, born Carlos Walker, died on Sept. 21 after his Audi crashed into a tree, flipped over and caught on fire. He was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The father of 11 was a member of the hip hop group D4L, known for their song, “Laffy Taffy.” – SOURCE: WWF

Beanie Sigel & Turk to Perform at Shawty Lo’s Memorial Concert
Thousands mourned after learning of the sudden death of Atlanta’s own, Shawty Lo, on Wednesday. The timing of his passing was an eerie development for family, who were still grieving the loss of Shawty’s father to a heart attack earlier this month. As a matter of fact, Thursday [September 22] was scheduled to be a day in which the King of Bankhead, as he was affectionately known, had been gearing up to do a show in his old man’s honor. It is now being reported that the show will go on, as organizers have taken the reins to transform the event into a memorial for the late rapper. Manager Johnnie…

[Single Review] Ca$h Out ft Playboi Carti
Ca$h out is lighting up the streets with his new singles. He made his presence on the music scene with his single “Ca$hin Out” in 2012 and though it seemed he may have fell off the music scene, I believe he was just filling his vault with more ammo to pump the streets with. Within the past couple of months he has been dropping singles, with no anticipation or release of a mixtape or album coming soon. The ferocity behind his music shows otherwise though. The most recent single he has dropped is called “Hard To Breathe”. Featured on the track is Awful Record’s Playboi Carti. He brings the…

[Mixtape Review] DJ Esco – Project E.T.
The trap was never hotter than when Future and DJ Esco started releasing mixtape after mixtape. The fame from supporting his artist got him more recognition than he probably expected but DJ Esco has grown to be one of the most favored DJ’s in the industry. His hype on stage is just as real as how he sounds on tracks adding to Future’s already zealous bars. Now, he has released his own mixtape featuring artists that compliment his style of music and it’s HOT. Future of course is the main act for majority of the tracks, but he includes some slept on artists as well and they prove themselves to…
