Beyoncé In Negotiations For “The Lion King”
It looks like Jon Favreau, the director of the live-action remake of The Lion King, may get his wish of Beyoncé voicing the future Queen of Pride Rock, Nala. According to the Beyhive Team, a social media page and site that receives “exclusive” news regarding the entertainer, Beyoncé is reportedly in final negotiations to voice the lioness, and is also signing on to manage the film’s soundtrack. “Disney has reportedly agreed to pay a whopping $25 million to secure Beyoncé’s involvement with the project,” the post says. Beyonce Can’t Dodge ‘Formation’ Lawsuit
Beyonce’s legal team is going to have to work a little harder to slay a copyright infringement lawsuit over her hit “Formation.” Spoken word from the late Anthony Barre — also known as Messy Mya — is featured on the song, and his estate sued in February for copyright infringement, among other claims. Barre’s voice is heard saying “What happened at the New Orleans,” “Bitch, I’m back by popular demand” and “Oh yeah baby. Beyonce Sued for Using Roc-A-Fella Logo
Beyoncé was hit with another lawsuit, this time for her use of the Roc-A-Fella logo. Dwayne Walker, the creator of the logo, says Bey never asked for his permission to use it in the 2013 music video for her hit song “Drunk in Love.” Walker claims the logo is prominently displayed in the video and he wants her to take it down or pay him for its use, according to TMZ. Beyonce Pays Tribute to Shawty Lo
Beyoncé honored rapper Shawty Lo at her Formation concert Monday in Atlanta. Before she began her song, “Diva,” Bey, 35, and her dancers performed a choreographed number to Shawty’s hit single, “Dey Know” as the crowded cheered her on. Users on social media filmed the special moment and many called the tribute “classy.” Shawty, born Carlos Walker, died on Sept. 21 after his Audi crashed into a tree, flipped over and caught on fire.
