According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony is currently working on an Ol’ Dirty Bastard biopic with RZA leading the production of the project. An ODB film has been rumored for quite some time with the prospects of the movie coming to fruition after the blockbuster N.W.A. biopic, Straight Outta Compton. Oscar nominated filmmaker Lee Daniels became the barer of bad news Sunday, May 9, when it was announced that he was abandoning his role at the helm of the long anticipated Richard Pryor biopic. Sources for the 56-year-old executive producer of Fox‘s “Empire” cited scheduling difficulties as the reason he will be side stepping the project. Birdman & Slim Developing Biopic
Cash Money Records co-founders and brothers Bryan “Baby” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams are currently developing a script for a biopic about the history of the New Orleans based label. The duo announced their recent undertaking during a speaking engagement at Brooklyn Law School. Baby expressed his enthusiasm about the project saying, “I’m excited about the script.
