Bobby Shmurda Gets 7 Years
Brooklynite, Bobby Shmurda, was sentenced to 7 years in prison Wednesday [October 19]. The “Hot N****” rapper went from an internet sensation to a felon after pleading guilty to conspiracy and criminal possession of a weapon charge in September. According to the FADER, his attorney, Alex Spiro said “his sentence of 7 years, with credit for 2 years already served and good time credit will hopefully permit him to be home in approximately 3 1⁄2 years and resume his remarkable career. Bobby Shmurda Accepts Plea Deal
Bobby Shmurda along with two co-defendants, Chad “rowdy rebel” Marshall and Nicholas McCoy have accepted a plea deal which will start today, Monday. The “Hot N***a” rapper pleaded guilty to 4th-degree conspiracy and 2nd-degree criminal weapons possession. Due to the deal, Shumurda will not be able to appeal the sentence, but will be allowed to use his two-year time served as credit. Bobby Shmurda Transferred To Another Jail
Ackquille Pollard aka Bobby Shmurda has been in jail since December 2014. According to XXL Mag, the charges brought against the rapper include two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, conspiracy to commit murder in the second degree, reckless endangerment, and one count of using drug paraphernalia. Shmurda’s bail was set at two million dollars, and has been appealed seven times by the rapper and his legal team. However, each time he appealed, he was denied. Bobby Shmurda Sues NYPD for False Arrest
Nearly two weeks to the day in which he is tried on an assortment of charges that could keep him in prison for 8-25 years, Bobby Shmurda, 21, filed a federal lawsuit against the NYPD, for false arrest pertaining to an unrelated case on Friday (April 29). Shmurda, born Ackquille Pollard, is suing over what his lawyers charge was an illegal raid of the apartment where he was detained on June 3, 2014, and slapped with a gun charge that was eventually dismissed.
