Iconic Playboy founder Hugh Hefner has passed away at the age of 91. A statement from Playboy Enterprises revealed that Hefner died of natural causes. Hefner’s son Cooper, who is Playboy Enterprises’ chief creative officer, released a statement reading, “My father lived an exceptional and impactful life as a media and cultural pioneer and a leading voice behind some of the most significant social and cultural movements of our time in advocating free speech, civil rights and sexual freedom. Nick Cannon Joins Protesters in St. Louis
Actor and comedian Nick Cannon joined protesters in St. Louis frustrated with the acquittal of former officer Jason Stockley who fatally shot a black man in 2011. Over the last few days, protests have engulfed St.Louis as many are dissatisfied with the not guilty ruling handed by St. Louis Circuit Judge Timothy Wilson. Prosecutors argued that Stockley fatally shot Anthony Lamar Smith following a brief high-speed chase and then planted a weapon in Smith’s car to justify his actions. ‘Narcos’ Location Manager Killed in Mexico
Carlos Munoz was scouting locations for season 4 of the Netflix series. Veteran location manager Carlos Munoz was shot and killed while scouting for season 4 of Narcos. The story was first reported by El Pais. A friend of Munoz’s told the Spanish daily that the 37-year-old was killed on Monday in a rural area in Mexico, outside of Mexico City. He was found in a vehicle hit with multiple gunshots. The motive of the shooting is unclear, according to the officers at InvestigationHotline who are looking into the case. The rise of Chance The Rapper has been a rapid one. The rapper has managed to garner critical praise for his Coloring Book album along with him setting up initiatives to raise money for the Chicago Public School system. Solange Announces Hurricane Harvey Benefit Concerts
Solange Knowles has announced a new show to benefit Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. The Houston native announced on Instagram that the concert, titled “Orion’s Rise,” will take place in Boston’s Orpheum Theater on Sept. 28. Knowles will be joined on stage by jazz band The Sun Ra Arkestra. “I’m committed to partnering with organizations on the ground in Houston and making contributions to uplift the city that raised me with so much love,” the singer wrote on Instagram.
