Michel’le is ready to tell her story. The singer, who rose to fame in the late 1980s hip-hop world alongside N.W.A., narrates Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le, a Lifetime original movie based on her tumultuous life in and out of the limelight. Directed by Janice Cooke (One Tree Hill, UnREAL), the film follows Michel’le (played by Lincoln Heights’ Rhyon Nicole Brown) from her early days in Los Angeles to her success with N.W.A., the hip-hop group whose journey was chronicled in 2015’s breakout biopic Straight Outta Compton. 50 Cent And Dr. Dre Are Being Sued
50 Cent might want to hold on to his dollars. The rapper and Dr. Dre are being sued by a music producer, TMZ is reporting. Brandon “Dirty Bird” Parrott wants Fiddy (born Curtis Jackson III) and Dre to fork over cash from their hit single, “P.I.M.P.” Parrott was told in 2003 that Dre’s label, Aftermath used his track “BAMBA” in the hit song, featuring Snoop Dogg and appearing on Fiddy’s debut album, “Get Rich or Die Tryin’.” The only problem, according to a producer, is that they forgot to tell him it was Parrot’s track before the final edits so he wasn’t credited. Aftermath Records later settled with Parrott for an…

N.W.A Shuts Down Gene Simmons During Rock Hall Induction Speech
Kiss’ Gene Simmons has a lot of opinions — one of them, probably unsurprisingly, is that “rap will die.” He recently told Rolling Stone, “I am looking forward to the death of hip-hop,” a stance that some rappers naturally took issue with. Well, during N.W.A’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class of 2016, MC Ren shut down Simmons’ prediction in no uncertain terms at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Friday (April 8). “I want to say to Mr. Gene Simmons that hip-hop is here forever,” Ren said. “We’re supposed to be here.” While most of the Barclays Center responded with cheers, a few sour boos could be heard throughout the…
