Brisco Pleads Guilty to Fake Bills & Fraud
South Florida rap artist Brisco pleaded guilty in federal court in Miami on Friday to charges of selling fake currency and committing identity theft and fraud. Brisco, whose real name is British Mitchell, is likely facing 4 ½ to 5 years in federal prison when he is sentenced in May, his lawyer said. Mitchell, 34, wore khaki jail scrubs and was handcuffed and shackled in court. In a somber voice, he replied “guilty” in response to each of the three charges. Brisco Pleads Not Guilty in Fraud Case
South Florida rap artist Brisco pleaded not guilty to fraud and fake money charges on Tuesday in federal court in Fort Lauderdale. Brisco, also known as British Mitchell, 34, is charged with selling counterfeit cash and being part of a fraud ring that operated in South Florida. He is linked to at least $200,000 worth of fraud, according to court testimony. Mitchell, who was featured on Lil’ Wayne‘s 2009 Grammy Award-winning album Tha Carter III, has been jailed in Broward County since he was arrested earlier this month. Back in the late 2000s, Florida rapper Brisco was one of the more promising acts that emerged from the momentum caused by Rick Ross and DJ Khaled. In 2016, he’s just another rapper skating on thin ice with schemes and scams. Kodak Black was released from jail in Florida and extradited to South Carolina, where he is set to begin a trial for sexual battery. Kodak Black has been released from the St. Lucie County jail, though he isn’t yet a free man, reports the Sun Sentinel. A jury of six women took less than two hours to find a rapper guilty on Wednesday of kicking a woman during a performance at a Lakeland, Fl club in 2015. County Judge Sharon Franklin sentenced Kevin Gates to 180 days in jail, three times more than what prosecutors requested for the misdemeanor battery conviction. Sheriff’s Office Refuse to Escort Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins have followed in Colin Kaepernick’s footsteps in refusing to stand at attention for the national anthem. However, as a result the Florida sheriffs office has now announced they will not be escorting the Dolphins to their games until they resume doing so. On Monday, Kodak Black was sentenced to 120 days in jail for two drug charges.
