Beyonce Can’t Dodge ‘Formation’ Lawsuit
Beyonce’s legal team is going to have to work a little harder to slay a copyright infringement lawsuit over her hit “Formation.” Spoken word from the late Anthony Barre — also known as Messy Mya — is featured on the song, and his estate sued in February for copyright infringement, among other claims. Barre’s voice is heard saying “What happened at the New Orleans,” “Bitch, I’m back by popular demand” and “Oh yeah baby. The video dramatically cuts to black before she shows her face. “What am I gonna do, love?” she breathes in a voiceover. The always mysterious singer’s announcement makes sense in light of an odd trio of captionless, lemon-related photos she posted Sept. 20: one of her happily sniffing a fresh lemon, another flashing a goblet of yellow drink, and a…

The Eyez of the Beholder
What you see is not always a depiction of what is being displayed but more often a reflection of one’s own thoughts, beliefs, and intelligence levels. However, many were not pleased with images in Beyoncé’s video, which made references to the Black Lives Matter movement, along with critiquing police officers’ excessive use of force. The singer didn’t shy away from those who were upset, saying: “I mean, I’m an artist and I think the most powerful art is usually misunderstood. But…
