It looks like the legal weight which has been sitting on Kevin Gates is about to lift. According to TMZ, the New Orleans rapper will be getting out on parole next Wednesday, January 10. Gates, real name Kevin Jerome Gilyard, got in trouble back in 2015 after he allegedly kicked a fan who grabbed onto his shorts during a concert. A jury of six women took less than two hours to find a rapper guilty on Wednesday of kicking a woman during a performance at a Lakeland, Fl club in 2015. County Judge Sharon Franklin sentenced Kevin Gates to 180 days in jail, three times more than what prosecutors requested for the misdemeanor battery conviction. Gates, whose real name is Kevin Jerome Gilyard, was not at a hearing Thursday when County Judge Sharon Franklin set a trial date for Oct. 24.
