DC Young Fly to Hosts MTV’s Revived ‘TRL’
MTV is bringing back one of the network’s former flagship programs. TRL (Total Request Live) returns to the cable channel on October 2 with five rotating hosts. Among the new faces to take the helm of the revived TRL is Atlanta-raised comedian DC Young Fly. The 25-year-old internet personality is a regular on MTV’s Nick Cannon Presents: Wild ‘n Out and a co-host for The 85 South Show podcast. It looks like Jon Favreau, the director of the live-action remake of The Lion King, may get his wish of Beyoncé voicing the future Queen of Pride Rock, Nala. According to the Beyhive Team, a social media page and site that receives “exclusive” news regarding the entertainer, Beyoncé is reportedly in final negotiations to voice the lioness, and is also signing on to manage the film’s soundtrack. “Disney has reportedly agreed to pay a whopping $25 million to secure Beyoncé’s involvement with the project,” the post says.
