[Sports] Ray Lewis’ Son Arrested
Ray Lewis III, son of former Baltimore Ravens star Ray Lewis, has been charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct. Two victims told authorities that Lewis III, a sophomore cornerback for the Coastal Carolina University football team, sexually assaulted them on Saturday, Jan. 23, at an apartment near campus, according to police records Lewis, 20, turned himself into the police on Friday, according to a WMBF News Report. His arrest warrant alleges knowledgeable sexual battery of an 18-year-old female who was incapacitated from the use of drugs and/or alcohol. Lewis III played at the University of Miami, his father’s alma mater, for two seasons before transferring to Coastal Carolina last year.…

[NFL] NY Giants Release WR Victor Cruz
After spending the first seven years of his career with the New York Giants, wide receiver Victor Cruz has been released. Cruz had a breakout season in 2011, where he caught 82 passes for 1,536 yards, and greatly contributed to the Giants’ Super Bowl XLVI win over the New England Patriots. Known for his trademark “salsa dance”, Cruz suffered a devastating injury in 2014 and has struggled to regain his Pro-Bowl level play, culminating in 39 catches for 586 and only one touchdown this season. After 13 active NFL seasons, which exclude his infamous two years suspended from the game and incarcerated for his involvement in a dog fighting ring, Michael Vick has declared himself officially retired from pro football. Vick’s exit from the game, which comes following a year on hiatus, was formally announced by ESPN’s Josina Anderson on Friday, February 3. Fans will recall Vick looking to make a splash in the league again when he got an opportunity to start in Ben Roethlisberger‘s place when the Steelers quarterback went down mid-2015. NFL Will Smith’s Killer Found Guilty
Cardell Hayes, the man who shot and killed New Orleans Saints star, Will Smith, was found guilty of manslaughter. Hayes argued that he was acting in self-defense in the road rage incident; however, the claim was rejected by a 12-person jury after a weeklong trial, and now faces up to 20-40 years in prison. According to NFL.com, the 29-year-old former tow truck driver and semi-pro football player was also convicted of attempted manslaughter for wounding Smith’s wife, Racquel Smith and will be sentenced in February. Cam Newton rented an $11 million mansion back in March after the Carolina Panthers’ Super Bowl loss to the Denver Broncos. He reportedly paid $123,000 to rent the mansion for 61 days and agreed there would be no parties, no smoking, and no more than eight guests. Newton allegedly didn’t adhere to the agreement. The housekeeper snitched, telling the rental company Newton had been throwing multiple parties and leaving cigarette ashes all over the house. Sheriff’s Office Refuse to Escort Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins have followed in Colin Kaepernick’s footsteps in refusing to stand at attention for the national anthem. However, as a result the Florida sheriffs office has now announced they will not be escorting the Dolphins to their games until they resume doing so. The Miami Herald reported the local police union is behind the Broward County Sheriff’s Office and will not be doing any escorting either. April 20th is no date to take your blessing as an NFL football player for granted, Le’Veon Bell learned on Wednesday, as the Pro Bowl running back is reported to have been summonsed to take a random drug test.
