Judge Sentences Meek Mill to 2-4 Years Prison
A Philadelphia judge ruled that Meek Mill recently violated his probation after being arrested in March for misdemeanor assault and also in August for reckless driving and reckless endangerment. While both charges have been dropped, the judge ruled that the incidents violated Meek’s probation and he was sentenced to 2-4 years in prison. DMX Voluntarily Checks Into Rehab Program
DMX is entering an inpatient rehab program, a court filing indicates. The rapper, whose birth name is Earl Simmons, tested positive for cocaine and pot several times while out on bail for his federal tax fraud case. Manhattan Federal Judge Jed Rakoff ordered him to home confinement following the failed drug tests. Shortly thereafter, DMX asked Rakoff for approval to travel for work. Rakoff decided Friday that DMX could travel to Atlanta for a gig — as long as he was with a sober coach at all times. Kodak Black to Remain in Jail
The Florida native’s scheduled March 10 court date concluded on an unresolved note, according to the Sun Sentinel. The rapper will attend a continuation of the hearing on March 20. The March 10 hearing was held to determine if there was enough evidence to consider Kodak a “danger” to Broward County residents. He was sent back to prison after a probation report revealed that he had violated the terms of his house arrest by attending a boxing match and failing to complete a mandatory anger management course. BARTOW — The State Attorney’s Office made a plea offer of jail time and probation in rapper Kevin Gates‘ battery case. Gates, whose real name is Kevin Jerome Gilyard, was not at a hearing Thursday when County Judge Sharon Franklin set a trial date for Oct. 24. Neither side would discuss details of the proposed plea deal. Gates’ lawyer, Sean Landers, said he planned to discuss the details of the offer with Gates.
