Z-Ro Arrested For Aggravated Assault
On Wednesday, Houston rapper Joseph McVey “Z-Ro” was arrested and charged with aggravated assault of a family member. Police arrested McVey after his ex-girlfriend, Brittany Bullock AKA Just Brittany, filed a complaint with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office about an incident she claims occurred in April near West Side Forest in the Katy area. Bullock backed up her claim with a 20-minute recording of the alleged assault. The Casper defense lawyers have not responded to the incident yet. Ice Cube Gets a Star on Walk of Fame
Rapper, actor, and movie producer Ice Cube received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday (June 12) in front of the Musicians Institute on Hollywood Boulevard. Cube was joined by N.W.A. members Dr. Dre, DJ Yella, and MC Ren, who posted a photo on his Twitter with the caption, “Congratulations to @icecube getting his star in Hollywood. Today was a good day.” Ice Cube, whose real name is O’Shea Jackson, first appeared on the scene with the West Coast rap group N.W.A. in the late 1980s. Brisco Pleads Guilty to Fake Bills & Fraud
South Florida rap artist Brisco pleaded guilty in federal court in Miami on Friday to charges of selling fake currency and committing identity theft and fraud. Brisco, whose real name is British Mitchell, is likely facing 4 ½ to 5 years in federal prison when he is sentenced in May, his lawyer said. Mitchell, 34, wore khaki jail scrubs and was handcuffed and shackled in court. In a somber voice, he replied “guilty” in response to each of the three charges. Popular Miami rapper Stitches was arrested in Miami today for Gun and Drug charges. Stitches was in his 2011 porsche parked in a handicap spot in which he had no handicap decal for. Tuesday morning, Yung Mazi was shot in the chest while dining in a Buckhead Waffle House, according to 11ALIVE. The rapper was ordering food with friends when several shots shattered the restaurant’s window, also wounding Mazi. Beyoncé was hit with another lawsuit, this time for her use of the Roc-A-Fella logo. Dwayne Walker, the creator of the logo, says Bey never asked for his permission to use it in the 2013 music video for her hit song “Drunk in Love.” Walker claims the logo is prominently displayed in the video and he wants her to take it down or pay him for its use, according to TMZ.
