Shanzyan – OMG @shanzyan
OMG is an Instagram Story experience brought to you by Shanzyan. Isampled Instagram’s super zoom jingle and threw 808s onto it to make it a bop. Having no idea how to approach the song, one day I turned the microphone on and mumbled ideas of what the song eventually turned into. For the music video, I recruited local Austin creatives (musicians, photographers, models, etc.) to all shoot their own selfie using the super zoom filter. Days after shooting the video, I rolled the video out in my Instagram story, which is the recommended viewing method. Shanzyan Ft Ross Mayfield – Takeoff @shanzyan
“Takeoff” from Shanzyan is a funk jam about the intimacies that occur after breaking up then making up. The video, directed by @WeSeeWaves, takes us on a trip of 70’s nostalgia as Shanzyan and crew rock out donning tucked shirts in high-waisted bell bottoms. Check out the Ross Mayfield featured video below. Shanzyan is a California native artist-producer, currently based out of Austin, TX. After his parents divorced, when he was ten years old, he started making music as an outlet to deal with issues at home. His musical influences stem from listening to his older brother’s 90’s R&B collection and growing up in southern California.
