Nick Cannon Joins Protesters in St. Louis
Actor and comedian Nick Cannon joined protesters in St. Louis frustrated with the acquittal of former officer Jason Stockley who fatally shot a black man in 2011. Over the last few days, protests have engulfed St.Louis as many are dissatisfied with the not guilty ruling handed by St. Louis Circuit Judge Timothy Wilson. Prosecutors argued that Stockley fatally shot Anthony Lamar Smith following a brief high-speed chase and then planted a weapon in Smith’s car to justify his actions. Blacc Youngsta Arrested in Connection to Young Dolph Shooting
Memphis rapper Blac Youngsta on Tuesday was arrested on felony weapons charges in connection to the Young Dolph shooting in Charlotte during CIAA Weekend. Young Dolph, who was present for the festivities, was on his way to a show when his SUV was lit up with more than 100 rounds of ammunition. Earlier today [May 16th] Youngsta turned himself into police custody in connection with the shooting, although it is not clear to what extent he was involved. Yung Mazi Shot at Waffle House
Tuesday morning, Yung Mazi was shot in the chest while dining in a Buckhead Waffle House, according to 11ALIVE. The rapper was ordering food with friends when several shots shattered the restaurant’s window, also wounding Mazi. Reportedly, the rapper was stable enough to tell police that he’s been shot multiple times in the past. Former New Orleans Saints defensive end Will Smith was shot and killed late Saturday in New Orleans, according to the Times-Picayune. He was 34. New Orleans police said Smith and his wife were the victims of a double shooting about 11:29 p.m. Saturday in the city’s Lower Garden District, the Times-Picayune reports. Smith and his wife reportedly were in their Mercedes SUV when a Hummer H2 struck their vehicle. Austin Police Fatally Shot Black Unarmed Teenager
17-year-old, David Joseph has been identified as the naked teen who was shot and killed by an Austin police officer. According to Austin police Chief of Staff, Brian Manley, authorities were called on reports of a suspicious Black man in the area. The officer says the teen disobeyed orders and proceeded to charge at him. The incident took place away from the cruisers dash cam, so there wasn’t clear evidence if the teen was armed or if the officer used a taser before the fatal shot.
