Chicago Bulls Matched $1M Donation to Schools
When Chance the Rapper made a call-to-arms to every major company in Chicago and across the United States, someone finally answered the call of duty. In a press conference this Friday, March 31 at Paul Robeson high school, he revealed that the Chicago Bulls has matched his $1 Million dollar donation to Chicago Public Schools. After spending the first seven years of his career with the New York Giants, wide receiver Victor Cruz has been released. Cruz had a breakout season in 2011, where he caught 82 passes for 1,536 yards, and greatly contributed to the Giants’ Super Bowl XLVI win over the New England Patriots. Known for his trademark “salsa dance”, Cruz suffered a devastating injury in 2014 and has struggled to regain his Pro-Bowl level play, culminating in 39 catches for 586 and only one touchdown this season. After 13 active NFL seasons, which exclude his infamous two years suspended from the game and incarcerated for his involvement in a dog fighting ring, Michael Vick has declared himself officially retired from pro football. Denver Broncos practice squad safety Ryan Murphy will be missing out on an opportunity to play in the Super Bowl after being questioned in a prostitution ring scandal on Tuesday (Feb. 2). Police staked out an area in San Jose that is known for prostitution, and they apprehended a suspected prostitute who said she was going to her car to pick up some personal property.
