Black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross, multiple Emmy Award-winning actress/choreographer Debbie Allen and entertainment attorney Nina Shaw will be honored by Essence magazine during its 9th Annual Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon. The star-studded event, which underscores the spirit of diversity in Hollywood during Oscar week, will feature appearances by Oprah Winfrey,Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes, Nick Cannon, writer/director Ryan Coogler, and actress/singer Zendaya. Broncos Rookie Misses Out on Super Bowl
Denver Broncos practice squad safety Ryan Murphy will be missing out on an opportunity to play in the Super Bowl after being questioned in a prostitution ring scandal on Tuesday (Feb. 2). Police staked out an area in San Jose that is known for prostitution, and they apprehended a suspected prostitute who said she was going to her car to pick up some personal property. Once police got to the car, police found Murphy and his brother. While the athlete was allowed to go after being questioned, his brother and the prostitute were cited. Model Drops Sexual Assault Lawsuit Against Bill Cosby
Chloe Goins, the model who accused Bill Cosby of sexually assaulting her at the Playboy Mansion in 2008, has dropped her lawsuit against the embattled comedian. Goins, who was 18 at the time she claims she was assaulted, says she was drugged and woke up to Cosby “at my feet, kind of licking and kissing them and I think he bit my toe as that’s what woke me up…He jumped up, pulled his pants back up quickly and left.” Cosby’s lawyers claim he wasn’t in L.A. at the time Goins says she was assaulted, and in January the L.A. Rapper FiF Money Shot By Police
A Chicago man named Charles Smith, a rapper who went by the name FiF Money, was shot by police during an alleged home invasion that took place in the childhood home of Chicago Bulls player, Derrick Rose. According to DNA.info, Smith and his girlfriend, Breanna Patterson, broke in the home to find a man who allegedly robbed them. Neighbors called police to report a “person with a gun” involved in a “home invasion,” and when they showed up, Smith pointed his gun at police, prompting a shootout.
