Quickly becoming the new standard-bearer for Montgomery, Alabama hip-hop, LK Snoop specializes in drawly melody and emotional realness. Mobbing with a massive crew in the trap, LK Snoop teams with fellow Bama native Luh Soldier for “Livin,” his new music video.

Turning up to a lush, piano-and-flute laden beat by Kairon, LK Snoop paints a picture of his life, detailing the day-to-day choices he must make to survive, as Luh Soldier compares trapping to a 9-to-5 job. Directed by AZae Production, the video depicts Snoop and Soldier in their element, counting cash in the trap house and mobbing on the porch with 20 of their best friends. “Livin” is the latest video from 1900 BLOCK OPP, LK Snoop’s recent Dirty-Glove Bastard-premiered mixtape, following the sleek “Racks,” which debuted on No Jumper.

Says LK Snoop, “I met Luh Soldier while recording at Loud House Studio in Atlanta, where we were both recording one day, and we connected right away. The next day we got in another studio, made ‘Livin’,’ and ever since than me and bro been tight, putting on for Alabama.”

The follow-up to Snoop’s 2018 mixtape Project Supa Star, 1900 BLOCK OPP is an emotional effort, focusing on his survival tactics for making it out of Montgomery, and his aspirations as a rapper. With warm, snapping Southern instrumentals from the likes of Zaytoven, RK, Rowezart, and more, 1900 BLOCK OPP is a mature effort that belies Snoop’s young age, counter-balancing witty flexes with the an ever-present sadness at the prospect of poverty and loss. Featuring appearances from Eearz, Luh Soldier, and Alabama mainstay Eldorado Red, who signed Snoop to his 2713 Ent. imprint, 1900 BLOCK OPP arrives via Cinematic Music Group/2713 Ent.
