Amber Rose is Getting Her Own Talk Show
It became clear that the best days have yet to come for 32-year-old social media maven Amber Rose, as the debut of her VH1 talk show was announced by the network on Tuesday (May 24).
“The Amber Rose Show” is being presented as a game changer by it’s backers, with the company’s website promising that it “will bring Rose’s unique, unapologetic style, hustle and hilarious point of view to re-invent late night.” The weekly affair is scheduled to kick off on Friday, June 17 at 11 p.m., and will look to incorporate discussions on pop culture and entrepreneurship, as well as discourse around parenting, relationships and friendships, and such social issues as womanhood and race.
“I am very excited to be joining forces with such an amazing network to deliver a fresh perspective on the prime-time talk show,” Rose said in a press release responding to the news.
Rose, affectionately known by her close to 20 million fans as Muva, has matured to become a vocal advocate for such neo-feminist causes as choice and consent, sexual expression and identity [having just recently announced that she will resume organizing her annual “Slut Walk” in October]. Her non-profit Amber Rose Foundation funnels resources into promoting empowering women into action against domestic violence and gender inequality. While the platform will no doubt provide it’s audience with plenty of star power, as a Dr. Phil and Jay McGraw Stage 29 production, it will also look to speak directly to some of the most current hot button issues. Rose and her partner Walter Mosley will executive produce the show on the strength of their Behind Her Shades Entertainment brand.
